Building dignified shelter, housing, and pathways out of poverty

Homelessness in Saint Paul has increased and Catholic Charities’ Dorothy Day Center has reached a breaking point. The need for a new vision and long-term solution is urgent. Our facilities are deteriorating and not meeting the needs of our most vulnerable community members.

We have an innovative plan that will serve our neighbors in a more dignified way. In the future, people will find dignified emergency shelter and promising opportunities to rebuild their lives. They will find a healing, supportive place equipped to provide the care, training and services they need to get out of crisis and on to better days. They will find permanent homes and support to maintain stability and self sufficiency. We’ll be able to prevent homelessness before it happens. And when it does happen, we’ll be able to take immediate action to help people get back on their feet. We will be able to change lives and improve our entire community.

Thanks to your support and advocacy efforts, we have secured initial state funding to begin moving forward with the ReVision. There is much work to be done, and we look forward to sharing the journey with you.
